Struggling with complex or multiple health issues and can’t find the answers? Better, lasting health comes from treating the whole picture, not just the surface. So, we’ll never just look at the symptoms, we dig deeper to find the root cause of your ill health. Our Better Ways to Feel Better Programme does just that, finding better ways to feel better through multidisciplinary team reviews. The team comes together to review each case in detail, either based on information you send or following an in-depth assessment. We coordinate consultations, tests, your story along with our information to develop your optimal care plan, so you get the right support, tailored to your unique situation. This is done via a meeting with all the Idos practitioners present.

Lovely practice and an easy, speedy and comfortable service for ENG1 Medical Glenna Smith30 December 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My experience with this practice was wonderful considering how bad I felt going in. The staff were friendly and caring. I am from the USA and had a difficult time trying to get someone to see me without going to the emergency room. They immediately sent me the paperwork and set an appointment for the next day. The doctor was especially thorough and kind. I recovered after a week and had a follow up. I would recommend anyone outside the UK to contact them for your needs while in the UK. Sebastian Hinde23 December 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great practice. Went in for an ENG1 exam with Dr Swanepoel- very professional, very friendly. Lucy was also great, being very helpful leading up to the appointment. Would recommend. Sarah Gilbert10 December 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I went for an acupuncture appointment with Roberta as my shoulder was extremely painful. She noted my medical history, explained the treatment she proposed, and then did a combination of massage, gua cha and acupuncture. By the next morning the pain was vastly reduced and mobility greatly increased. I have returned since with dramatic results. She is so kind and gentle but remains focussed and gives amazing results. IDOS is a professionally run medical practice in a great location for both easy parking and also the “feel good factor” of being in a picturesque part of Newcastle. Highly recommended. That is exactly why we are building our condition-led support pages. These pages help you start with what you are experiencing, then guide you towards the most relevant IDOS services.
A private GP appointment is often the best starting point if you are unsure. From there, we can help decide whether you may need blood tests, sleep support, menopause care, mental health support, a health check or referral.

A completed client registration form in advance of your first appointment, gives us some medical background before we first see you and makes the check in process smoother.
You can register for a one off appointment or to join one of our wellbeing packages as a regular client.
We reserve the right to request confirmation of your identification.
As part of our safeguarding responsibilities, please do not be offended if we request confirmation of your parental authority to act for a child at the point of registering, or reconfirmation of the same at any point in the course of their treatment with Idos health.

Aside from the consultation fee, the main costs relating to your care might relate to blood tests (pathology) and imaging (X-ray, MRI, CT etc. done offsite and not charged at Idos).
Your doctor will always explain which investigations they recommend if any, and why each one will be helpful. Please do not hesitate to ask if you require clarification.

We charge you the cost price of each blood test, plus an administration fee. Your practitioner will give you guidance on cost, and you are never obliged to undertake any investigation with us.

Anyone can use Idos as a fee paying private client who is looking for medical, psychological or complementary care. Most people that choose Idos are clients looking for prompt, high quality responsive management of their health and wellbeing in a pleasant accessible environment . Our fees reflect the quality of our services. As a CIC we also seek funding for certain clients and groups to support our goal of helping communities.
‘Complementary care’ often refers to ancient health practices such as acupuncture, qigong, reflexology and yoga. The term is often used interchangeably with ‘holistic care’ and ‘alternative medicine’.
Often complementary care is safe, focusses on ‘rebalancing’ and ‘supporting’ our own bodies to stay or get well and relies on a different evidence base from conventional medicine to support it’s use.
It can be effective for a variety of conditions and is often used for chronic illnesses such as Multiple Sclerosis, fatigue, pain , arthritis and sleep.
Appointment fees cover the consultation time and include any standard examinations or procedures that may be carried out in that time. Our fees also include standard administration that arises from your consultation (such as writing once off prescriptions, and making referrals).
If you require paperwork or reports to be completed, for example, to claim from an insurer, we will charge an administration fee.
Appointment fees are payable at the point of booking. We are unable to reserve appointments without a £20 deposit for non medical practitioners or a £120 deposit for medical practitioners.
Idos encourages you to keep your NHS GP registration, and will promptly provide you with all the records we hold on you, so that they can be transferred to your NHS record if you so wish. If appropriate we are happy to share information we hold about you with external doctors and your NHS GP with your consent. We would routinely inform your NHS GP in a brief letter or secure email, that you have attended Idos clinic unless you expressly request us not to.
We are CQC registered, so our standards meet top requirements. So we can now offer full medical services at the clinic.
