Same‑week access to doctors who take time to listen and explain.
Imagine not being rushed by a doctor and having them truly listen? We think prioritising your health one conversation at a time is better for everyone, which is why we provide timely appointments with doctors who take the time to get to know you, your unique story and your needs.
At Idos, our Newcastle-based private GPs offer same-day, next-day, and pre-bookable appointments Monday – Saturday. Whether you’re experiencing minor symptoms or navigating a more complex concern, we provide up to 30-minute initial consultations that include medical history, physical examination, and relevant diagnostics such as urine or blood analysis. Follow-ups last 20 minutes and may be conducted in person or by phone. Our GPs can issue prescriptions, referrals, and diagnostic requests, and work collaboratively with NHS GPs when appropriate.
Our GP:
• Dr Riaan Swanepoel – Male GP experienced in paediatrics and safeguarding with a holistic, patient-centred approach.
Available Monday – Saturday.
For those not in Newcastle or unable to attend the clinic, we offer telephone appointments too.
Appointment Cancellation Policy: If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment time, you will be liable for the full consultation fee. Cancellations made with more than one working days’ notice will not incur a charge.
Idos doesn’t provide emergency care. If you need urgent medical care, call 999 or go to your nearest hospital.
“I have been a patient at IDOS since they opened and have always received the best and most attentive care from Dr Swanepoel and his Staff. I took my Dad to see Dr Swanepoel after we had drawn a blank with his own GP. IDOS sorted my Dad and referred him to a Specialist for treatment to resolve what turned out to be a very serious issue. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for GP or other Medical care than IDOS. Thanks for all you have done.”
