Private prescriptions from IDOS GPs, with clear guidance on how and when to take your medicine.
At IDOS, prescribing follows a proper clinical assessment. We take a full history, review any current medication and allergies, and discuss benefits, risks and alternatives so you can make an informed choice. Where appropriate, we’ll issue a private prescription and explain how to collect it from a local pharmacy.
Our GPs can prescribe acute or repeat medications following a consultation, and arrange to send them electronically to a remote or local pharmacy for convenience. For convenience we recommend booking 48 hours ahead for repeat requests.
What we can help with: short‑term medicines (for example infections or travel health), repeat medication reviews, bridging prescriptions where clinically appropriate, and advice on stopping or switching medicines.
Your GP will decide if a prescription is clinically appropriate. Private prescriptions are paid for at the pharmacy; prices vary by medication and pharmacy. If monitoring or tests are needed, we’ll arrange these and agree a clear follow‑up plan. Where NHS prescribing is more suitable, we’ll advise you on the best route.
