When needed, our GPs can refer you to trusted in-house specialists or partner consultants in local private hospitals. We refer for further investigations, second opinions, or treatment planning, and offer direct access to sleep, psychiatric, elderly care and medical consultants.
If your condition needs further investigation or treatment, an IDOS GP will discuss suitable options and arrange a referral to an appropriate specialist or service. We explain why the referral is recommended, what to expect next and how long it may take. Where useful, we’ll include a concise clinical summary and any relevant test results so you don’t have to repeat your story.
We can advise on private and NHS pathways, likely timescales and costs, and how to prepare for your appointment.
Common referral areas include imaging (X‑ray, ultrasound, MRI), cardiology, dermatology, gastroenterology, gynaecology, ENT, orthopaedics, neurology, sleep medicine and mental health services. Where additional tests will speed things up, we can arrange these at IDOS before you attend the specialist appointment.
