Psychosynthesis Counselling

Counselling can help with a wide range of short to medium term concerns. Are you struggling to find meaning, do you feel stuck, unsure of which direction to take, want to take a next step or wish to explore options? All counsellors are trained in a particular model, each model has benefits and some will be more helpful to your context than others.

Psychosynthesis is a contextual psychology of the soul, one that integrates the spiritual and transcendent aspects of the human experience with our everyday experiences.. Psychosynthesis integrates many aspects of our human experiences, including spiritual, emotional, cognitive, and physical aspects. Psychosynthesis is interested in the past and will help us come to terms with our experiences and will achieve this mostly in relation to how the past is impacting on the present.

Our counsellor has many years of experience working alongside and with people on a one to one basic. We offer a safe, non-judgemental space in which you can explore the context in which you come to counselling. With experience of working with people and a range of concerns including, but not exclusive, coping with recent life events such as bereavement, anxiety, low mood, addiction in its many forms, learning to live well and resolving challenging experiences of faith.

Psychology

A healthy psychological approach improves our long term physical health. Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) links mental health and immune response. Mental health can slip downwards almost imperceptibly or an event may mean you need psychological support more quickly. Managing your mental health promptly can avoid complications later and improve your long term outlook. The first step in any therapeutic relationship is to understand how you feel and what your problems are. Once a trusting base is created then many different psychological approaches can be used to achieve results.

These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). We have several different experienced psychologists working at Idos using a variety of techniques to help clients.
